Entering year three of the PWHL's existence, the league has yet to host one of the artifacts of professional sport - an All-Star game.
Now an eight team league, the PWHL could easily host an All-Star game featuring players from the four Canadian based teams against the four American based teams. They could run a three-on-three tournament like the PHF previously did with teams made of Canadian, American, and International players.
The league could also combine the event with a skills competition and other events giving fans additional access to players, unique merchandise, and much more.
All-Star weekends are a chance for all general managers and league staff to meet in person, and they're also a significant marketing event for leagues as they can showcase the best they have to offer.
There are hurdles in the PWHL however, including the many items the league is still working to fine tune, expansion this season and planned expansion in the near future, and the already abundant gaps in the PWHL's disjointed schedule that adding an All-Star weekend to would only increase.
In the above video, Cee Benwell, Ian Kennedy, and Chris Sinclair discuss the merits, and issues, with the PWHL adding an All-Star weekend to their schedule.
