
There's a new number one in NCAA women's hockey after Ohio State swept Wisconsin in a weekend series of powerhouse programs.

Ohio State swept their two game series against Wisconsin this weekend, staking their claim as the top team in NCAA women's hockey.
After beating Wisconsin 3-0 on Friday night on a pair of goals from Jennifer Gardiner and a 19-save shutout by Raygan Kirk, Ohio State beat Wisconsin again on Satuday.
This time the two teams played to a 1-1 draw in regulation before Hannah Bilka ended it in overtime for the Buckeyes.
In regulation, Jennifer Gardiner struck first for Ohio State with Stephanie Markowski assisting. Cassie Hall answered back for Wisconsin in the second period with Maddi Wheeler assisting.
Ohio State controlled play throughout the weekend outshooting Wisconsin 64-41.
The win moves Ohio State to first overall in the WCHA, and will certainly result in Ohio State taking over the number one ranking in national polls.
