Edmonton captain Connor McDavid seems like the Oiler most likely to take home the Conn Smythe trophy as he averages 2.43 points per game this postseason.

The Conn Smythe trophy winner is very difficult to predict as you have to pick the best player on a Stanley Cup winning team, who is also regraded as the biggest reason why that team has won.

For our case we look to dive into a handful of different players that should have a shot to take home the prestigious trophy if their team takes home lord Stanley.

All betting lines are from BetMGM and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Bet: Connor McDavid to win Conn Smythe trophy (+900)

There certianly is a case to be made for the value play with Leon Draisaitl to take home the award instead but McDavid is playing at another level right now. His 2.43 points per game average makes him almost impossible to bet on as his odds to get his team on the board night in and night out are astounding.

He is willing his team towards a championship as the 27-year-old Canadian is on the march for greatness. He grew up in Richmond Hill watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and dreaming of winning a Stanley Cup and you can see it in his play as he plays every game with personal stats in mind but only what will make his team prevail.

It's become a major storyline this season that he may be one of the greatest playmakers the game has ever seen with 100 assists in the regular season and following it up with 15 assists through seven games so far this postseason.

He is the Oilers top forward in minutes at an average of 22:30 per game and hasn't hurt his team with costly penalties as he only has one so far.

He also leads Edmonton in even-strength time on the ice with 129:43 which leads Draisaitl by 12 minutes and has started to play more of a two-way game as he is covering more ice than ever before.

He has an average skating distance of 16.70 km per 60 minutes which lands in the 95th percentile along with his top skating distance in a period listing at 2.61 km which ranks in the 98th percentile.

There is an agrument to be made that Connor McDavid is the best player in the world and if you think the Oilers have a shot to come back versus Vancouver and win the Stanley Cup, you can bank on the captain playing the biggest role and winning the Conn Smythe. You should take this bet for a small amount so you don’t lose this juicy odd before it drops again.
