Berard began the season in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings

The Abbotsford Canucks have recalled forward Ben Berard from the ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, it was announced Thursday.

Berard, who began the season with the Wings, has scored seven goals and added three assists for 10 points in 12 games.

Currently in his second pro season, Berard spent the entire 2023-24 season with the Texas Stars, putting up four points in 30 regular season games while being held pointless in seven playoff games.

Before turning pro at the end of the 2022-23 season, Berard spent four seasons in the NCAA with Cornell, collecting 68 points in 87 career games.

With Berard getting out to a hot start in the ECHL, Abbotsford has been impressed with what they've seen and rewarded him for his efforts. Although his offensive numbers didn't pop last year with the Stars, Berard has proven to be a reliable depth player and should get into games with the team soon.
