Vancouver Canucks Coaches’ Playing Careers: Jason Krog

In 2007–08, Krog stuck solely with the Wolves in the AHL. This seemed to have paid off, however, as he finished the season with 39 goals and 73 assists in 80 games played, making this his first 100-point season in any league. This effort earned him the Les Cunningham Award, which is given to the most valuable player in the AHL. Krog was a beast in the postseason as well, scoring 12 goals and 26 assists in 24 games and being named MVP of the 2008 Calder Cup Playoffs. Six seasons after losing to the Wolves in the Calder Cup Final, Krog hoisted the Calder Cup as a member of the very team that defeated him back then.1y

Abbotsford Canucks Re-Sign Berard, Okabe & Lemieux

The Abbotsford Canucks have re-signed three players for the 2025-26 season. All three players were signed to one-year extensions and spent the majority of the 2024-25 campaign in the ECHL. The three players who were re-signed were forwards Ben Berard and Zach Okabe, as well as goaltender Jonathan Lemieux.1y

Abbotsford Canucks Re-Sign Kambeitz, Walker & Arntsen

The Abbotsford Canucks have signed a trio of players to contract extensions. Forward Cooper Walker and Joe Arntsen both received two-year AHL extensions, while Dino Kambeitz was re-signed for one season. All three played depth roles for Abbotsford last year and helped the organization capture their first championship in franchise history. 1y
