Hinote spent the past four seasons working as an assistant coach with the Nashville Predators

The Colorado Eagles have hired Dan Hinote as their associate head coach, the team announced Wednesday.

A product of Leesburg, Fla., Hinote spent the past four seasons working as an assistant coach with the Nashville Predators.

Before getting into coaching in 2010, Hinote enjoyed a 13-year pro career. Drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the seventh round of the 1996 NHL Draft, Hinote played parts of nine seasons in the NHL with the Avalanche and St. Louis Blues - collecting 90 points in 503 career regular season games and winning the Stanley Cup in 2000-01.

After hanging up his skates in 2010, Hinote jumped right into coaching, joining the Columbus Blue Jackets as an assistant coach. Hinote served in that role from 2010-2014 before becoming a pro scout for the Blue Jackets.

After four seasons as a pro scout, Hinote got back into coaching -joining the U.S. NTDP as as associate coach. It would be his last stop before heading to Nashville prior to the 2020-21 season.

As Hinote re-joins the organization that drafted him, he will have the opportunity to help develop players with the Eagles. While the Avalanche don't have a lot of depth in their prospect pool, they still have young players looking to establish themselves with the Avalanche and Hinote can help them get there.
