Thanks to the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-2 win over the Charlotte Checkers, they moved only four points out of a playoff spot.  They play again on Wednesday against the Checkers, and another win, with Bridgeport and Springfield not in action, can move them two points out of a playoff spot.

The other team that will watch that closely is Wilkes-Barre / Scranton, who have a seven-point lead over the Checkers for second place in the Atlantic Division. A Checkers win moves them within striking distance of the Penguins, who will be in Laval on Wednesday night.

Then there's the game in Allentown between the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and the Providence Bruins. With the Phantoms holding a two-point lead over Bridgeport and Springfield but only four points back of the Hershey Bears, everyone is keeping a close eye on them.

In the North Division, the big game is Belleville against Cleveland. The Monsters have a one-point lead over the Toronto Marlies for third place while the Senators are only three points behind the Rochester Americans for the final playoff spot in the division. Sure, the Amerks will have four games in hand after the game but they've only won one of their last 10, so they are in a fight for that playoff spot.

Out west, the Ontario Reign look to remain the best team in the Pacific Division but with the Colorado Eagles earning a point on Tuesday night and playing again on Wednesday, they can move into a tie for first. The good news for the Reign is that they face the Abbotsford Canucks, who are in last place in the Pacific.
