Maillet spent one season with the Rocket

Former Laval Rocket forward Philippe Maillet has signed a one-year deal with HC Ambri-Piotta in Switzerland, the team announced Sunday.
Maillet, a product of Lachenaie, Que., returned to his home province to join the Rocket in 2023-24 after two seasons in the KHL. In 67 regular season games, he scored 21 goals and added 32 assists for 53 points.
Since turning pro at the end of the 2016-17 season, Maillet has spent time in the AHL (Ontario Reign, Hershey Bears & the Rocket), NHL (Washington Capitals) and KHL (Metallurg Magnitogorsk).
As Maillet makes the decision to return overseas, his past numbers (in the KHL) bode well for him to make an impact in Switzerland. A quick thinking player with the puck on is stick, Maillet is able to create chances for himself and others and will be an immediate difference maker for HC Ambri-Piotta.
