Rueschhoff spent the 2023-24 season playing for the Penguins

Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Austin Rueschhoff has signed a one-year deal with Karpat in Finland, it was announced Saturday.

Rueschhoff, a product of Wentzville, Mo., spent this past season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton where he collected 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points in 67 regular season games. Rueschhoff also appeared in two playoff games with the Penguins but went pointless.

Since turning pro in 2020-21, Rueschhoff has spent time with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Milwaukee Admirals and the Penguins - putting up a total of 80 points in 201 regular season games.

With Reuschhoff making his way to Liiga, it will be interesting to watch how quickly he can adjust to the bigger ice surfaces. Standing at 6-foot-7, he has displayed solid instincts with the puck on his stick and should be an offensive threat for Karpat.
