The Edmonton Oilers are chasing history tonight as the club looks for their 17th straight victory when they face off with the defending Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights.
The white-hot Stuart Skinner, who himself is on a personal 12-game win streak, with a stunning 1.28 GAA and .952 SP in the past month, was involved in a massive win streak of his own dating back to his days with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors.
From January 12th to February 25th, 2019, the Condors won 17 straight games, with Skinner, then a backup, posting wins against San Jose, San Diego and Ontario. Bakersfield's Ryan Holt shared that Shane Starrett won 14 of the 17 contests.
Regardless, Stuart's name is in the history books as the Condors tied the Philadelphia Phantoms in 2004-5 for the second-longest longest win-streak in AHL/NHL history.
Skinner, and the Edmonton Oilers, have the chance to etch their names amongst those great clubs with a victory tonight.
