Twenty-five-year-old Matt Murray has earned his first NHL career shutout in only his fourth National Hockey League game.

Murray, a native of St. Albert, Alberta, stopped all 23 shots he faced against the Minnesota Wild on Monday night.

The UMass-Amherst grad, who put together a 21-win campaign with three shutouts, a 2.31 GAA and .917 SP in his final season with the club, had previously suited up for three NHL starts for Dallas in 2022-23, compiling a 1-2 record with a rough 3.39 GAA and .844 SP.

Primarily backstopping the AHL's Texas Stars, Murray has logged 53 games for the club across three seasons, currently sporting an 8-4-1 record with one shutout, a 2.86 GAA and .908 SP.

Murray is expected to hold a backup role in Dallas opposite Scott Wedgewood while solidified starter Jake Oettinger recovers from an injury.
