Brenton joins the IceHogs from the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors

The Rockford IceHogs have signed defenseman Lucas Brenton to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.

A product of Winnipeg, Man., Brenton spent this past season with the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL), scoring one goal and adding 16 assists for 17 points in 68 regular season games. He also saw 20 playoff games with the team, registering seven points.

Since making the jump to the WHL in 2019-20, Brenton has played in 230 regular season games with Moose Jaw, putting up 53 points in the process.

Standing at 6-foot-4, Brenton does a good job at using his size effectively and that should translate to the pro level. While he stands a chance at seeing time with Rockford, Brenton will most likely spend time with the Indy Fuel (ECHL) as well.
