Studnicka spent time with both the Sharks and Vancouver Canucks in 2023-24

The San Jose Sharks will not qualify forward Jack Studnicka, San Jose Hockey Now's Shang Peng reported Friday.

A 2017 second-round pick of the Boston Bruins, Studnicka spent time this past season with both the Sharks and Vancouver Canucks as well as their farm teams.

In five games with Vancouver, Studnicka registered a goal. With Abbotsford, he had one goal and six assists for seven points in nine games.

After being acquired by the Sharks in December, Studnicka went pointless in 17 games. With the San Jose Barracuda though, he scored six goals and added eight assists for 14 points in 27 games.

Since turning pro at the end of the 2018-19 season, Studnicka has played in 107 career NHL games, collecting 16 points in the process.

With Studnicka hitting free agency, he could draw interest from teams looking to add depth to their system. While he has struggled to stick in the NHL throughout his career thus far, he could be worth taking on shot on.
