

The Seattle Kraken have assigned eight players to the Coachella Valley Firebirds for training camp, the team announced Friday.
Those sent down include forwards Tucker Robertson, Ian McKinnon, Jagger Firkus, David Goyette and Logan Morrison as well as defenseman Ty Nelson and goaltenders Jack LaFontaine and Victor Ostman.
A product of Toronto, Ont., Robertson split time between the Firebirds and the Kansas City Mavericks (ECHL) last season. With Coachella Valley, he scored six goals and added four assists for 10 points in 39 games. He added 14 points in 13 games with Kansas City.
McKinnon, who is entering his third season with the Firebirds, collected two points in 20 regular season games last season.
Drafted by the Kraken in the second round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Firkus played for the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors in 2023-24, putting up 126 points in 63 regular season games.
Another 2022 second round pick of the Kraken, Goyette collected 117 points in 68 games with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves last year.
In his first pro season last year, Morrison saw time with both the Kraken (pointless in four games) and Firebirds (41 points in 64 games).
To round out the list, Nelson (52 points with OHL's North Bay Battalion), LaFontaine (.911 SV% in 23 ECHL appearances) and Ostman (2.80 GAA in 21 appearances with the University of Maine) all experienced success at their respective levels and should see time with the Firebirds in 2024-25.
