The Utah Hockey Club have signed forward Curtis Douglas to a two-year, two-way contract, the team announced Sunday.
A product of Oakville, Ont., Douglas spent this past season playing fro the Tucson Roadrunners where he had five goals and 16 assists for 21 points in 57 regular season games. Douglas also saw two playoff games with Tucson, collecting an assist.
Prior to turning pro, Douglas played in the OHL with the Barrie Colts and Windsor Spitfires. In 247 career games, he had 83 goals and 85 assists for 168 points.
Drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Douglas has spent time with the Belleville Senators, Toronto Marlies and Roadrunners since joining the AHL.
As Douglas will enter his second full season with the Roadrunners, he will most likely play a big role for the team. While he has yet to see an NHL game in his career, if he does see time this season with Utah, he will be one of the tallest players to ever step on NHL ice.
