Colorado Bar Owner Could Win Over Half a Million Dollars with Oilers Stanley Cup Win

A day before Game Six of the Western Conference Finals, Colorado Bar owner Jeremy Malone felt his future ticket for over half a million dollars could possibly hit.

It was the Champions League Final in Soccer and Malone needed Spanish club Real Madrid to take home the trophy, which they did with ease, winning 2-0 over the German club Borussia Dortmund.

It left one leg remaining on his $584,000 bet slip, where he will be relying on another German in Leon Draisaitl and his Edmonton Oilers to bring home the Stanley Cup. This was just one variation of the bet as Malone had also entered in the same bet but with his hometown Colorado Avalanche.

“I am an Avs’ season ticket holder and a die hard fan,” he said “When this bet was made, we had it a few different ways so it just happened that the Oilers made it.”

Malone lives in Aurora, Colorado but sees Edmonton often as he has a good friend, who lives in the city and visits with his girlfriend of four and half years and their 18-month old son. He has seen the Oilers play up close and feels they have a great chance to win the series despite entering as slight underdogs.

“The power play and penalty kill have been great, and have shown they can win on the road,” he said “The Panthers will be a tough opponent as they have the depth and the goalie advantage but the Oilers have McDavid, Draisaitl and Hyman, so game on.”

Malone knows what he’s talking about as the Oilers power play is operating at a jarring 37 per cent while killing off nearly 94 per cent of their penalties.

This isn’t his first rodeo, as Malone has made big money betting on sports before as he cashed a ticket for $290,000 in 2022 when the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl, the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals and his Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup.

Malone says his next big payday would go towards investing, as he owns three sports bars in Colorado along with a possible vacation for his family.
