New York’s Chris Kreider has eight goals in his last ten games against Columbus and looks to score again Wednesday night

The Blueshirts were riding a ten-game winning streak, heading into last Sunday, where they play their second leg of a back-to-back that proved to be too much for them as they lost 4-2 to a struggling Blue Jackets team. The loss certainly felt like a pop in their confidence balloon but they get a chance to redeem themselves Wednesday night at home in a rematch against Columbus.

It should be an exciting matchup and if you want to get in on all the action, here's a breakdown of the matchups with some insights for potential betting opportunities that could win you some cash.

Pick: Chris Kreider anytime goal (+125)

New York has won five straight home games against the likes of the Stars, Lightning and Avalanche. They’ve also won seven of their last 11 matchups against the Blue Jackets with winger Chris Kreider consistently playing a big role in their wins with eight goals and 11 points in his last ten games against Columbus.

He should have a solid chance with Elvis Merzlikins likely to start between the pipes for the Blue Jackets. The Latvian netminder has a 3.59 goals against average and a .892 save percentage in his last 15 starts.

Pick: Johnny Gaudreau over 0.5 assists (+130)

Johnny Hockey has been leading the Blue Jackets as of late with 16 points in his last 14 games with all but one of his points being assists.

Gaudreau has been an underrated playmaker for some time, dishing the puck more regularly than scoring with 87 assists dating back to last season, which is 41 assists ahead of the next Blue Jacket. He has started playing more regularly with captain Boone Jenner and youngster Jack Roslovic, who both could find the back of the net thanks to Gaudreau.
