2024-25 Winnipeg Jets Introductions Monday offers up plenty of chances to hit it big with six games on the NHL slate. Some elite matchups include the Dallas Stars taking on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins while the Predators travel to the Mile High City and try to avoid being swept up by the Avalanche. We look to stay hot on Monday after hitting our Pad Stack picks on the weekend and extending our record to 5-2 for underdogs on the puck line this season. There's a couple underdogs we really like on Monday and we will tell you why. All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly. Bet: Stars -1.5 (+150), Stars Penguins Over 6.5 goals (-110), Jason Robertson anytime goal (+165) The Stars are due for a big showing with just six goals over their last three games. They were trashed by the Jets on Saturday as they allowed a pair of goals early into the first period and came out slow again in the second period, where they allowed another two goals. Dallas is normally an aggressive team with 90 first period goals since the start of last season, which is top 12 in the league. They also dominate in this matchup regularly with five wins over their last six games versus the Penguins. In four of their five wins they managed to score at least three goals and confirmed Pittsburgh starting goaltender Joel Blomqvist has allowed three or more goals in five of his seven starts this season. It should be a big game for star forward Jason Robertson, who enters Monday with just two points over his last seven games. In five career matchups versus the Penguins, Robertson has a goal and eight assists for nine points. Bet: Kings Flames Under 5.5 goals (-105) This game is asking people to take the over by offering it at a very low price tag at 5.5 while also making it plus money. This has suckered betters into placing 79 per cent of their bets on the total for the over. This is exactly what the sportsbooks want as they know the Kings are an elite defensive powerhouse. Since the start of last season, the Kings are 27-18-6 with a 2.76 goals against average on road. The Flames are also one of the worst home offences during that span with the 22nd-best goals per game average at 3.06 in home games. The Kings have also allowed more than a single goal just twice in their last six road games. It's favoured on the line for a reason, don't fall for the plus sign. These two teams have totaled under seven goals in four of their last five matchups so if an early goal provides us the option to take the under at 6.5 we will look to take it. Bet: Hurricanes -1.5 (+180), Martin Necas anytime goal (+220) This again seems like a betting line where the sportsbooks are asking you to take the Golden Knights as they are at home and are known for their prolific fan base that makes their barn hard to play in. They are also 9-3-2 and have not lost at home yet this season. This is why 94 per cent of the bets on this game are for the Golden Knights to cover the puck line as underdogs but I don't agree with this. Early numbers are showing the love is on the Hurricanes for the money line but I believe this will flip and go more in the direction of the money on the puck line with a majority of people taking Vegas. The Hurricanes are 10-3-0 this season and are coming off a tough loss versus the Avalanche. The Vegas crowd doesn't seem to faze Carolina as they've recorded wins in four of their six trips to the Sin City. Carolina is also one of the best road teams in the NHL with a 30-15-3 record since last season. The Hurricanes dominate due to stellar play from Martin Necas, who has goals in seven of his last nine games.
