We've been tracking the information released about EA's NHL 15, which is coming up for release in a little less than a month. All the while, we've been asking to get an idea of how the game actually plays. The ratings, the graphics and the neat little gimmicks like fans with face paint are nice and everything, but the meat of this game comes on the ice.

EA has released two videos showing an overhead view of actual game play. They include game introductions, which have live action Doc Emrick and Ed Olczyk inside the virtual arena. It will probably be a part of the game people push through after a couple weeks, but I wonder how the intros hold up over a season or career.

The first thing you might notice about the game are new camera angles. Between the two videos, NHL 15 showcases three new camera angles that they're calling "Dynamic Low, Dynamic Medium and Dynamic High."

The game play looks sharp, but does resemble recent versions. Dekes do look a little less over the top, but a lot of the types of goals look the same, don't they? Deke top shelf shot, weak backhand dribbler, etc. Here's hoping they happen in proportional amounts - and not always as a game-winner in the last minute of regulation, in favor of a team that was just outshot 50-10!

All-in-all the game looks impressive and enough to quench the thirst of its hardcore fans and the ones who buy it every other year. But for the ones considering not purchasing this year's version, does this game play footage do anything to sway your opinion? What are you looking for in the game?
