A month-long initiative will involve all teams in the junior circuit, but two teams have worn special jerseys in honor of veterans and Juno Beach.
Remembrance Day may have passed, but the Ontario League will be honoring veterans for the whole month.
As part of a fundraiser for the
Juno Beach Centre, every OHL team will wear commemorative patches honoring the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the Normandy landings during the Second World War. Those home jerseys will be auctioned off at the end of the month. On top of that, the Sudbury Wolves and Niagara IceDogs recently wore special D-Day themed jerseys. Here are a couple shots:
