Ryan Miller wants Eddie Lack to wear taco-design goalie pads

Vancouver Canucks goaltenders Ryan Miller and Eddie Lack have a special relationship built on teasing each other. As such, Miller took a shot at Lack’s equipment design competition and submitted pads that have a giant taco on them. We don’t think he’s going to win.

Eddie Lack have a special kind of relationship, wherein both Canucks netminders like to take shots at each other over social media. The latest jab comes from Miller, who wanted to help Lack design his new set of pads. Lack held a mask design competition earlier this season and it was met with great success. So it only makes sense he would try to do the same with his equipment. Brian’s, the company which Lack has previously used for
his custom Canucks pads and
his outstanding Chicago Wolves pads, has set up the competition and Miller took full advantage. Included in Miller’s design are pictures of Lack’s parents, Mia and Willie, as well as a taco – half on the left pad, half on the right. It’s an… interesting design, to say the least.

Miller, who has been sidelined since late-February with a lower-body injury, obviously had some spare time on his hands to create this gem of a design. Sadly, it’s unlikely Miller’s design wins seeing as Lack, nicknamed ‘The Stork’ for his long legs, has retweeted a stork design and praised the fan who created it. It’s also unlikely Miller wins because it’s impossible to imagine Lack wearing a taco on his equipment for an actual game, but that’s just a hunch. Maybe he gets them made and gifts them to Miller. Who knows. The competition ends this Friday, March 20, and the winning designer will get their design featured on Lack’s pads for NHL action, on the Brian’s website and InGoal Magazine, as well as receiving a blocker with the winning design signed by Lack.
