The Boston Bruins were busy on the first day of free agency. They signed several new forwards, including Tanner Jeannot, Sean Kuraly, Michael Eyssimont, Alex Steeves, and Matej Blumel. They also acquired winger Viktor Arvidsson from the Edmonton Oilers.

With the Bruins bringing in so many new players, their forward group is now incredibly crowded. Before Bruins general manager Don Sweeney went on his peculiar shopping spree, the Bruins already had players like Casey Mittelstadt, John Beecher, Marat Khusnutdinov, and Mark Kastelic signed. They also have youngsters like Matthew Poitras, Fraser Minten, and Fabian Lysell expected to fight for NHL jobs.

With this, it certainly is looking like the Bruins could have another trade or two up their sleeves before the season is here. They have way too many bottom-six forwards, which is an issue when noting that they desperately need another legitimate top-six winger.

Thus, the Bruins will be a team to watch the rest of this off-season. It feels possible that more changes could be on the way, and ultimately, there should be. The Bruins did not make any significant improvements to their roster through free agency, especially when it comes to their scoring. Furthermore, if they head into training camp with this roster, they very well may be forced to place at least one NHL-caliber forward on waivers before the regular-season begins.

Nevertheless, all eyes should be on Boston.
