The Buffalo Sabres picked up a hard-fought 6-3 win over the Boston Bruins on April 6. With this, the Sabres have improved to a 34-36-6 record on the season.
Sabres forward Tage Thompson played a major role in the win, as the star forward recorded a hat trick in the contest. This included scoring the Sabres' final two goals that gave the team some much-needed insurance to pick up the victory.
This is only the latest big game that Thompson has had, as he has been on fire down the stretch. The star forward extended his goal streak to four games, where he has seven over that span. He also has 25 points in his previous 24 contests, so he has been red-hot for quite some time now.
With his impressive stretch of play, Thompson now has 43 goals, 27 assists, 70 points, and a plus-2 rating in 70 games this season. The 2016 first-round pick has been nothing but excellent this campaign for the Sabres, and it will be intriguing to see how he finishes it up from here.
