The Calgary Flames (26-21-8) have 27 games left in the 2024-25 season. Their next outing is Sunday evening at the Saddledome against Macklin Celebrini and the San Jose Sharks (15-35-7).

Sunday's game marks the Flames' first since Feb. 8, when they lost in overtime 3-2 to the Seattle Kraken. The home team blew a 2-0 third-period lead in that game.

Meanwhile, tonight's matchup is the second of four between Calgary and San Jose, with the Flames winning the previous encounter 3-1 in California.

Calgary is 4-5-1 in its last ten games. Although outscored 33-28, they scored ten power-play goals on 33 attempts. However, the Flames have lost three straight, last defeating the Kraken on Feb. 2.

The Sharks come into the Saddledome 1-8-1 in their last ten games, having been outscored 51-27. Their last win came against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 27.

    Conversation Starters

    • The Flames have been saying all week at practice that tonight starts the season's stretch drive. After some rest, the players feel energized and ready to go. Considering how many blowout games we've seen in the last two days, could we see another in the making
    • Scoring has been a concern for Calgary all season, but who will step up against one of the NHL's weakest defenses?
    • We could see Connor Zary and/or Kevin Bahl in the lineup tonight. How much impact will they have after some time away while healing from injuries?
