Calgary Prospect Andrew Basha registered a game-high two assists in the Game Five of the WHL Championships, leading the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 4-2 victory over the Spokane Chiefs to take the WHL Finals 4-1.
Basha joins fellow Flames prospect Etienne Morin of the Moncton Wildcats at the 2025 Memorial Cup.
In the bigger picture, the 19-year-old played a huge role throughout the series since returning to action in Game One after being put on the shelf since Dec. 28 due to an ankle injury and surgery.
The Calgary born winger produced two goals and six points in five games with a rating of +4 in the WHL Finals. His points total were the second-highest on the team in the series.
Basha certainly made quite an entrance by scoring a goal 54 seconds into the opening game of the championships.
He will now have a chance to shine at the Memorial Cup that commences on May 22.
EDIT: Seems like the WHL has removed one of Basha's assists, leaving him with five points in five games of the WHL Finals. More for the 2024 second rounder to prove at the Memorial Cup...
