The GardFather is coming.

The Big Show

Evan Gardner, the 60th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft had a very good year for the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL. So good, that he was picked by fans as the team MVP for the Blades.

Gardner went 23-13-5 with a SV% of .911 during the regular season. They didn't do so well in the playoffs, being swept in the first round, but all in all, it was a great season for the young goalie from Fort St. John, British Columbia.

His SV% was 5th best on the WHL, and he had 3 shutouts, which was tied for 3rd in the WHL.

Gardner also played in one game for the Cleveland Monsters, going 0-1 with a SV% of .842. But don't worry, that was a big step up, and he'll be ready to improve in Saskatoon next season. Gardner doesn't turn 20 until January 2026 and has only played two seasons in the CHL, so his pro dreams will need to wait for another season or two.

In March of this year, Gardner signed his entry level contract with Columbus which will start when he decides to turn pro.
