Twenty-six-year-old Samuel Laberge has made it to the National Hockey League.
Laberge became the 743rd former ECHL player to suit up for an NHL game last night during the New Jersey Devils overtime victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Laberge dished out a hit in four minutes of ice time with the Devils.
He totaled 47 points (17g-30a) in 64 games in the ECHL during the 2017-18 (Idaho), 2020-21 (Allen) and 2021-22 (Adirondack) seasons.
Most recently, Laberge spent three seasons with the AHL's Utica Comets, putting up three points in eight games this season, with 16 points in 43 games in 2022-23, with a previous two seasons with the Texas Stars in 2017-18 and 2018-19. In his junior career, Laberge spent four years with the QMJHL's Rimouski Oceanic.
Laberge became the third ECHL alumni to debut in the NHL during the 2023-24 season following goaltenders Matt Tomkins and Hunter Shepard.
