The Toledo Walleye are losing another forward to the overseas market. Orrin Centazzo is joining HK Poprad of the Slovakian hockey league for the 2024-25 season after posting a 54-point campaign in the ECHL this past season.
The 24-year-old signed with Toledo in the offseason after two successful years with the Newfoundland Growlers. Centazzo enjoyed a breakout 2021-22 season in his first year with the Growlers, recording 51 points on 28 goals and 23 assists in 51 games.
The following year, he posted 46 points in 39 games while also seeing 15 games with the Toronto Marlies, but had only one point (an assist) in his AHL stint.
This past season, Centazzo played a big role for the Walleye, tallying 22 goals and 32 assists in 60 games. He also saw five games with the AHL's Belleville Senators, recording one goal.
Since Toledo's elimination from postseason contention, Centazzo becomes the eighth player and the fifth forward from the Walleye to sign overseas.
In addition to Centazzo, Chase Gresock, Michael Prapavessi, Riley McCourt, Riley Sawchuk, John Lethemon, Jason Willms, and Brady Gilmour also found new homes with European clubs for the 2024-25 season.
