Grando, 26, brings versatility to the lineup with his ability to play in all situations. He is coming off a career year, after leading the Icemen in scoring last season with 54 points (21-33-54), while also earning ECHL Player of the Week [https://thehockeynews.com/echl/players/jacksonvilles-grando-picks-up-echl-weekly-honor]Honors for the week of Jan. 6-12. Grando has also been the recipient of the team’s “Fan’s Choice Award” the past two seasons. During the 2023-24 season, Grando had a productive rookie campaign, registering 46 points (15-31-46) in 69 games, earning the Icemen Rookie of the Year Award, an honor chosen by his teammates. In 155 career ECHL [https://thehockeynews.com/echl/]contests, Grando has totaled 109 points (40-69-109), and a +47 rating. Grando initially joined the Icemen in March of 2023 after wrapping up his NCAA [https://thehockeynews.com/ncaa/]senior season at Arizona State University. He recorded nine points (4-5-9) in 15 appearances with the Icemen that spring. The 5-foot-10, 172-pound forward played three seasons at Arizona State and two seasons at Boston College, recording 64 points (26-38-64) from 2017-23. Prior to starting his collegiate career, the Islip, New York resident played two seasons in junior hockey with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL [https://thehockeynews.com/ushl/], totaling 54 career points (22-32-54). The 30-year-old Coughlin is back in Jacksonville after recording 31 points (15-16-31) in 50 games played with the Icemen last season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward has collected 116 points (46-70-116) in 233 career ECHL contests in stints with the Icemen, Iowa Heartlanders [https://thehockeynews.com/echl/latest-news/heartlanders-re-sign-miura-for-upcoming-season], Worcester Railers [https://thehockeynews.com/echl/latest-news/railers-to-host-worcester-sharks-night-next-season]and Indy Fuel [https://thehockeynews.com/echl/community/latest-news/would-indianapolis-be-an-ideal-city-for-the-nhl]from 2019-25. Coughlin has also played in eight AHL [https://thehockeynews.com/ahl/]games during his career, making two appearances each with the Rockford IceHogs, Bridgeport Islanders, Springfield Thunderbirds and Providence Bruins. Coughlin was selected by the Edmonton Oilers [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/edmonton-oilers]in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
