Worcester outlasted the Bison despite a career night from Jake Murray. Jake Murray did everything he could to help his team win. In the end, the Bloomington Bison [https://bloomingtonbisonhockey.com/]defenseman’s four-point effort was not enough as the Worcester Railers [https://railershc.com/], rebranded as the Monkey Wrenches this weekend, prevailed 6-4 Saturday night in Massachusetts to sweep the two-game set. The four points were a career-best for the 22-year-old Murray, who collected his fourth goal of the season to go along with three assists on the night. Murray and Connor Lockhart picked up assists on the play. Worcester tied the score on its own power-play tally at the 12:21 mark. Lincoln Hatten netted his sixth of the year with helpers from Mason Klee and Cam McDonald. The Monkey Wrenches took the lead 2-1 at 15:39 of the opening period on Griffin Loughran’s eighth goal of the season. JD Dudek and Matthew Kopperud earned helpers. Matt DeMilis made the score 3-1 at the 17:01 mark with his fifth of the year, assisted by Hatten. Lee potted his second goal of the game to bring the Bison within 3-2 with 2:05 left in the frame. Danny Katic picked up an assist along with Murray, his second of the night. At 1:29 of the second period, Dalton Duhart scored his first professional goal to tie the game 3-3. Katic and Murray once again assisted on the tally, which came on a power play. Worcester regained the lead just over a minute later when Kopperud lit the lamp for his 14th of the season. Loughran picked up the assist. Murray lit the lamp himself for the first time on the night to tie the game once again for the Bison, his fourth of the season. Sam Coatta picked up a helper. That was all Bloomington would get on the night, as the Monkey Wrenches added two unanswered goals from DeMelis and Anthony Callin for the 6-4 final. Callin’s goal was an empty-netter at 18:21, his 17th of the season. Yaniv Perets started in goal for the Bison, stopping 14 of 18 shots. He played 22:43 of ice time before being relieved by Kasimir Kaskisuo, who saved 20 of 21 shots but was credited with the loss.
