Matthew Knies broke through last season with 29 goals and 29 assists. His efforts earned the winger a six-year, $46.5 million contract extension with the Maple Leafs. The departure of Mitch Marner increases the responsibility - and pressure - on Knies to produce.
The good news is that Knies is skating on Toronto's top line with Auston Matthews and William Nylander. In addition, he is slated to be part of the team's first power play unit. As such, look for Knies' output to ride slightly, with 35 markers and as many helpers in range.
