NHL Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Forward Pickups March 28 - Florida's Samoskevich Worth A Look Friday

On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.

Mackie Samoskevich, RW, FLA vs. UTAH (14% rostered)
Samoskevich, selected 24 overall in 2021, is having a nice rookie season for the Panthers, He has tallied 13 goals while dishing out as many assists in 62 contest, picking up his scoring subsequent to the 4 Nations Face-Off break. Samoskevich has also dished out 114 hits, showing why he is viewed by many as a perfect third line winger for the future.

Christian Dvorak, MTL @ CAR (1% rostered)
Dvorak had his moment in the sun March 19, posting a goal and three assists in Montreal's victory. He is up to 26 points on the season, putting him on pace to notch 30 points for the sixth time in his career. The one full campaign he missed that mark was last season, when he finished with 28 points but in just 64 contests. View Dvorak as a nice secondary or tertiary scoring option.

Taylor Hall, RW, CAR vs. MTL (17% rostered)
Hall, who got off to a slow start after arriving in Carolina, certainly has found his game. He tallied a natural hat trick Sunday, followed by a power-play goal Sunday. Over the last six contests, Hall has erupted for six goals and eight points, with three of the tallies coming on the man advantage. Carolina has been searching for a true scoring winger in the playoffs for years. Last season, they hoped Jake Guentzel was the answer. Then, the Canes acquired Mikko Rantanen, but dealt him at the trade deadline. Now, they may turn to Hall to lead the way in the postseason.

Jonathan Lekkerimaki, VAN @ CLM (1% rostered)
Boone Jenner, C/LW, CLM vs. VAN (22% rostered)
You get two options for the price of one ticket in this contest. With Vancouver shorthanded, Lekkerimaki is set to stick in the lineup for the rest of their current road trip, as the Canucks are missing Elias Pettersson (undisclosed), Filip Chytil (concussion) and Nils Hoglander (undisclosed). The 20-year-old Lekkerimaki has two points over his last three contests and should see top-six usage and some power-play time due to all the absences. Jenner was out until February 22 due to a shoulder injury. He is making up for lost time, notching a pair of goals and nine helpers in 14 games. Jenner has added 28 hits, in line with his prior production. He is one of the engines that makes the Blue Jackets go, wearing the C with pride.

Brett Howden, C/LW, LV @ CHI (4% rostered)
Howden continues to add to his career-best numbers. Despite skating in the bottom-six, Howden has been more productive than expected, showing that he cam move up the lineup with aplomb when requested. Howden, who scored again Tuesday, is up to 34 points, 112 shots on net, 105 hits, 50 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a plus-13 rating through 69 appearances. He has deserved the five-year, $12.5 million contract extension he signed with the Golden Knights last November.

Mason McTavish, Ana vs. NYR (31% rostered)
McTavish set a new career-high in points with his goal Wednesday. He has five goals and eight assists over 13 games this month, upping his season-marks to 19 tallies and 25 assists. McTavish has thrived in the third-line center role, bolstered by the presence of Leo Carlsson, who has taken some of the pressure from him. Look for McT to be the Ducks' second-line pivot before too long, possibly even as early as next season.
