Sure the Blue Jackets play the Carolina Hurricanes in the season finale, but more importantly, the City of Columbus, Blue Jacket fans, and the team will be saying goodbye to play-by-play legend Jeff Rimer.
Jeff Rimer will be calling his final game for the Blue Jackets. A career that spans decades will come to an end tonight and nearly everyone is sad about it.
Every interaction I've ever had with Jeff, he's been nothing but nice. From walking by the broadcast booth while visiting Nashville for a CBJ game and saying Hi, or fans gathered outside the Icehaus to watch a scrimmage from the street and he walked by and talked to us, he was always cordial. And then this past summer, I bumped into him walking into the arena during CBJ media day, and he was kind enough to direct the rookie where to go, he's just an all-around good man.
Enjoy retirement, Jeff Rimer. You deserve every second of it.
