Patch reverts change made last week

EA Sports/EA.com - New NHL 24 Bodychecking Update

On Monday February 5th EA SPORTS reversed a change they made in NHL just last week.

The change comes merely hours after the completion of both the NHL 24 All-Star Open and the Maples Leafs Gaming Club Championship.

The change impacts the hitting system. In a patch last week EA significantly reduced the speed in which a player could use to attempt a hit. This resulted in players going for bodychecks and either missing completely or simply being too slow to get to a spot to make contact.

Hitting should now be as it was before last weeks update. Players can now once again accelerate into hits, which makes bodychecking both easier and more effective.

The tuning has resulted in conflicting opinions in the professional and content creator community, with some believing this patch makes it too easy to throw bodychecks.

Hitting is a big part of both real life hockey and NHL 24, and this change should be a positive one for most players.
