Arguably one of the most intense NHL games ever made, EA Sports' NHL 24 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 6th 2023. We already know that Colorado Avalanche star defensemen Cale Makar will be on this years cover, but now we finally know what new features, new mechanics, and new changes will be coming to NHL 24. Rahil and Safir will have articles providing deeper dive into some of the major changes, but here's an overview of what's coming in NHL 24.
One thing for certain is that NHL 24 will not feel like NHL 23. A suite of new gameplay features will bring a level of control never experienced before in an NHL video game. From the new Exhaust Engine to the new Goalie Fatigue System, fans will have to learn new ways to both score and defend. Control Skill Moves and the Vision Passing System will both help give gamers more control over their players, making the game feel much more intuitive.
Hockey Ultimate Team, or HUT is seeing the launch of a much anticipated mode. The all-new HUT Moments mode will let players recreate and share classic moments in both hockey history and some of modern hockey's biggest plays. We'll also be seeing the addition of a much needed change with the real-time objective-tracking system, allowing players to keep track of HUT objectives in game.
NHL 24 brings with it the most dynamic and rewarding World of Chel yet, with the biggest change being enhanced cross-play, which will give players even more ways to connect and improve matchmaking. Improvements to the Creation Zone, as well as an authentic EASHL Playoffs mode will bring a more authentic experience to the mode. Finally, the WOC Battle Pass and WOC Storefront will give players even more ways to customize their in game characters, with both free and paid options available.
Players of NHL 24 will feel more immersed into each and every game with all-new presentation updates. Flex Moments allow players to show off with over 75 new goal celebration animations which you can map to specific controller buttons, as well as new camera angles and lighting effects. You can also expect new crowd reactions that make the game feel more real, from anticipation on odd man rushes to standing and applauding the goalie after a spectacular save.
