It is a common understanding that the atmosphere of a hockey game is as important as the game itself. Anyone who has gone to an NHL game, or any sporting event, can appreciate the impact of a loud, immersed, and energetic crowd reacting and responding to big moments happening in the game.
NHL 24, developed by EA SPORTS NHL, captivates the essence of a hockey game atmosphere through various presentation upgrades.
NHL 24 has over 75 new goal celebration animations. Termed Flex Moments, celebrations are supported by new camera angles and lighting effects. Players can also map celebrations to the controller, allowing them to flex their moment however they want.
NHL 24 also builds on the crowd atmosphere. More than ever, the crowd will react and respond to multiple developments during a hockey game, relating to stoppages and rushes down the ice. The crowd's atmosphere will also be displayed with the Exhaust Engine. Is full pressure active? The home crowd will respond to dramatic moments embodied through the Exhaust Engine, bringing a true and authentic immersion to NHL gaming.
For the first time, the EA SPORTS NHL series will include dynamic rink boards. As part of augmented reality broadcasting, the rink boards will be responsive to highlight key on-ice moments. The dynamic rink boards will visually present delayed penalties, goal summaries, stat milestones, and key moments.
The presentation upgrades do not end there. An exciting addition to the NHL 24 broadcast team is the two-time Olympic ice hockey gold medalist and veteran broadcaster Cheryl Pounder. As the new color commentator in NHL 24, Cheryl Pounder will bring fresh and insightful comments to the game.
The various presentation upgrades are designed to bring true immersion to hockey gaming. More than ever, players are brought into the action from a gameplay standpoint and atmospheric. Every game will be unique, and the various presentation aspects of the game will seek to respond and be showcased accordingly.
