NHL 24 - What's New In World Of Chel

World of Chel has continuously been one of the most connected game modes in NHL. Players can team up with friends or club teammates, in 3 v 3 or 6 v 6 matches with their own customizable characters and play hockey. You can choose if you want to be a defensive defenseman, a offensive power-forward, or a stand-up goalie like the old days. It's the game mode that offers players a true hockey experience with their friends, their own teams, and their own characters, and it just got a lot more connected.

In NHL 24, EA has given gamers a game mode that offers more customization, more ways to connect, and most importantly more ways to have fun. 

NHL 23 allowed fans to get a taste of cross-play by allowing those of similar console generations to play against each other. While it was a start, many were disappointed that they couldn't actually play alongside their friends on the opposite console. Not anymore, as NHL 24 has true cross-play, meaning you can now play against or with your friends across same-generation consoles. Xbox Series X|S players can play with PlayStation 5 players, and Xbox One players can play with PlayStation 4 players. This is a huge step for the franchise, as not only will it deepen the player pool allowing for shorter wait times between matches, but it now allows for you to play with friends regardless of what console they're on (as long as they're on the same generation).

By playing your way through seasons of the WOC Battle Pass, you can get rewarded for simply just playing the game, without those dreaded hockey bags. Players can choose between a free and premium level, each offering special rewards to customize your character. The WOC Storefront also will have featured cosmetics and items to outfit your character with, along with exclusive premium bundles of custom characters, player banners, and more. The best part? Players can either purchase currency or earn currency by playing games, allowing for the ability to earn these items without having to spend any money should you choose to do so.

EASHL Evolved brings with it a slew of updates, new changes, and unique features that will help make World of Chel a much improved game mode. Casual Mode, or Quick Play will allow you to play quick 5 minute games with others, allowing for a quick experience while you're waiting for your WOC club members or friends to join the lobby. Matchmaking improvements and upgrades that make earning Battle Pass XP more fun are some other changes that will help give the game mode some life. Finally, an update to the EASHL Playoffs will bring an authentic experience to the game, allowing you to earn Ranking Points as you climb through the bracket. Eventually, a Global Champion will be crowned post-playoffs, upping the stakes and excitement.

Finally, the Creation Zone is seeing a major quality of life change that will make fans rejoice. No more spending 5+ minutes editing your character's skates, or waiting for faces to load. Now with an overall upgrade to the user experience, lighting-fast response times will be a thing all over the Creation Zone, from switching between different aspects of the Creation Zone, to customizing your character. Now we can finally add that new shiny helmet without making our teammates wait forever.
