Poulin and Spooner highlight new cards

To celebrate Canada's victory in the Rivalry Series EA SPORTS has released seven new Team Canada Women's cards in Hockey Ultimate Team.

Canada defeated the United States 6-1 in game seven of the Rivalry Series on February 11th, coming back from a 3-0 series deficit to win for the second year in a row.

While it is great to get more women's players in HUT at this point in the game's cycle many of these players are unfortunately not a high enough overall to warrant a spot on rosters.

  • Poulin received an elite offensive card with great speed, and she is the only card of these new releases that can be rostered on all elite level HUT teams.
  • Spooner has good checking stats and hands but lacks speed. With synergies activated her shot can be improved and she can be a middle-six contributor on lower end teams.
  • Jenner comes with good speed and checking, with synergies engaged she can be a bottom-six contributor.
  • Despite great seasons and a victory at the Rivalry series, Nurse, Ambrose and Maltais are all unlikely to be a high enough overall to make your team.
  • Maschmeyer is a good backup if you are looking for a checking boost synergy.

With the PWHL in the middle of their season and the Women's Worlds still to come there is still a chance for more women's cards to be added.

The next Women's International event is the World Championship which will take place between April 3-14 in Utica, New York.
