Cards feature overall boosts for winners

EA SPORTS has released new cards in Hockey Ultimate Team that receive boosts from the results of the 2024 NHL Stadium Series.

Each of these players will receive a 1 overall boost if their team wins their Stadium Series game.

The New Jersey Devils will be taking on the Philadelphia Flyers on February 17th, while the New York Rangers take on the New York Islanders on February 18th. Both games will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

While a +1 overall is slightly underwhelming at this point in the game there are some useful cards.

  • Kreider and Trocheck both fall into the 'solid but not exceptional' group. Unless you need them for synergies they will likely not crack elite lineups, but can be solid contributors on teams that have not been built up. Kreiders size and power forward synergy would make him much more interesting if he receives the +1 boost.
  • Trouba also is unlikely to make most teams, however his accelerator synergy combined with his size and and potential +1 overall boost could be worth it at a cheap price.

  • Konecny is a solid all-around card that can be a middle-six player on some HUT teams. The overall boost and the two-way forward synergies would significantly improve this card.
  • Sanheim and Farabee are likely unusable, unless you desperately need some size on defense.

  • Hughes is the best of the new cards and is tied as his highest card of the year. A dynamic offensive card, Hughes should be sought after by all HUT players, especially with the possibility of the card increasing to 94 overall.
  • Jesper Bratt's card is a slightly more ordinary version of Hughes. He possesses good speed, hands, and passing skills. While he does nothing elite Bratt could be a middle-six winger on some HUT teams. The overall boost would be great for this card.

  • Horvat has good faceoffs and stick checking stats, but he is unlikely to be more than a bottom six center on a mid-level team.
  • Neither Palmieri or Romanov are high enough overall to warrant spots on rosters
