Women's Worlds Sim The 2024 IIHF Women's World Championships are underway in Utica, NY, with the Americans looking to defend their Gold Medal. Canada and the USA have combined to win every single Women's World Championship since the tournament began in 1990, but the competition around them has improved every year. With the increased competition and the Canadian/American rivalry in full swing, we wanted to simulate the tournament in NHL 24 to see who came out on top. [gallery ids="4196,4197,4198,4199"] In our simulation Finland was able to become the third country to ever win the Women's Worlds, defeating Canada 3-2 in overtime. Canada lead the round robin in points, while Marie-Philip Poulin, Natalie Spooner and Erin Ambrose tied Petra Nieminen for the lead in scoring with 10 points in seven games. The United States had a disappointing simulation, finishing 1-1-2-1, losing to Sweden in the quarterfinals. Finland winning the tournament in real life would be a historic achievement, we will see in the coming weeks if the simulation comes true.
