Iskhakov showed well at the 2024 AHL All-Star Skills Competition.

Barzal & All-Star

New York Islanders prospect Ruslan Iskhakov is an AHL All-Star for the second straight year.

The 23-year-old and second-round selection (No. 43) in 2018 leads Bridgeport in goals with 13, assists with 21, and points with 34, primarily skating with Brian Pinho and Matthew Maggio.

Iskhakov is known for his skating ability and puck handling, and he had the chance to show both of those skills off Sunday night at the 2024 AHL All-Star Skills Competition in San Jose.

Up first was the Puck Control Relay race as Iskhakov, along with New York Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann and Montreal Canadiens prospect Logan Mailloux, raced against Anaheim Ducks prospect Olen Zellweger, former NHLer Rocco Grimaldi -- who plays for the independent Chicago Wolves --  and Arizona Coyotes prospect Josh Doan, the son of Shane Doan.

The result was a win for the East, as Iskhakov went last for his squad, clinching the victory:

Iskhakov made that look rather easy, eh?

The speedster didn't compete in the Fastest Skater competition, with the Hershey Bears Ethen Frenk winning for a second-straight season with a 13:032 lap time. That number beats Connor McDavid's 13.408, which he recorded in Toronto this past Friday night en route to winning the NHL Skills Competition,

Frank holds the record for fastest time amongst AHL and NHL All-Stars, positing a 12.915 lap at last year's All-Star Skills competition,

Iskhakov' took part in Rapid Fire, a goaltender competition, shooting alongside Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Gage Goncalves on Coyotes goaltender prospect Matthew Villalta, who made seven saves.

Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender prospect Jet Greaves won the competition, making nine saves.

The Bridgeport All-Star then took part in the Accuracy Shooting, hitting three targets on eight attempts, with Los Angeles Kings prospect Brandt Clarke going four-for-four for the win:

Iskhakov's final event of the night was the Breakaway Relay, as he scored on Calgary Flames goaltender prospect Dustin Wolf.

The West defeated the East 18-13 in points, but Ishakov put on a solid performance and will now play in the AHL All-Star Game Monday night at 9 PM ET on NHL Network.
