Chilliwack Chiefs forward Caleb Malhotra has committed to Boston University, it was announced this past week.
Caleb, the son of former NHL player and current AHL head coach Manny Malhotra, will join the Terriers in 2026.
A product of Toronto, Ont., Malhotra spent the 2023-24 season playing for the Vaughan Kings U16 where he had nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 21 GTHL regular season games.
Across the U16 circuit, Malhotra had 23 goals and 25 assists for 48 points in 48 games.
Viewed by many as one of the top 2008-born forwards in Ontario, Malhotra was drafted eighth overall in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection by the Kingston Frontenacs but elected to go the NCAA route.
As Malhotra joins the BCHL next season, he will be one to closely monitor. Capable of navigating himself and creating in tight areas, Malhotra needs very little time to read and react when on the ice. While he is a while away from joining the Terriers, he has all of the tools to eventually be a difference maker at the NCAA level.
