Saginaw Spirit forward Calem Magone has committed to Lake Superior State, it was reported Monday.
Mangone, who was a part of the Spirit's Memorial Cup team last season, is currently in his overage year with Saginaw where he has collected eight goals and 21 points in 18 games.
Drafted by the Spirit in the first round of the 2021 OHL U18 Priority Selection, Mangone has put up 61 goals and 165 points in 194 career OHL regular season games.
Scheduled to join Lake Superior State next fall, Mangone is an underrated get for the Lakers. As someone who is capable of navigating in tight areas with the puck and creating for himself, Mangone has been an important player for the Spirit over the past four seasons and should be the same at Lake Superior State.
