Paille played his junior hockey in the OHL with the Guelph Storm

Canisius' Daniel Paille has taken a role with the OHL's Niagara IceDogs as an assistant coach, it was announced this week.
This move comes after Paille stepped down from the Golden Griffins program to 'pursue another coaching opportunity'.
Paille, who had a long NHL career with the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers, joins the IceDogs with five years of coaching experience.
Paille first joined Canisius in 2019-20 as a volunteer assistant coach and worked his way up into an assistant coach role after two seasons.
As Paille gets set to join the IceDogs, he will be joining a program looking to turn their fortunes around after finishing dead last in 2023-24.
While it is yet to be seen how Paille will fit in amongst the coaching staff, it would not be surprising to one day see him take on an OHL or even potentially an NHL head coaching gig.
