Pool joins the Big Green after seven seasons at Northern Michigan

Dartmouth College have hired Byron Pool as their new assistant coach, the team announced Friday.
Pool, a native of Unity, Sask., joins the Big Green after seven seasons with Northern Michigan as their associate head coach.
"Byron is one of the most respected coaches in college hockey," head coach Reid Cashman said in the team's press release. "He has been a part of winning cultures at every stop of his coaching career."
Following a career that saw him suit up for Colgate and spend four seasons playing pro, Pool played his last game during the 2003-04 season.
While he was out of the game for a little while, Pool got his coaching start as the head coach of the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL) in 2008-09.
After two seasons with the Bobcats, Pool made the jump to the USHL to join the Fargo Force as an assistant coach. Holding that position for four seasons, Pool was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2014-15 season and worked with the Force for another three seasons in that role.
Joining Northern Michigan before the 2017-18 season, Pool worked with the Wildcats up until last week when it was announced he was stepping down.
As Pool now joins the Big Green, Dartmouth is getting an experienced coach that will help the program now and in the future.
