Gicewicz spent five seasons in the NCAA

The Florida Everblades have signed former St. Lawrence and UMass forward Carson Gicewicz to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.

Hailing from Orchard Park, N.Y., Gicewicz split this past season between the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and the Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL). In nine games with Milwaukee, Gicewicz had four points. With Atlanta, he scored six goals and added 21 assists for 27 points in 43 regular season games.

Before turning to pro hockey at the end of the 2020-21 season, Gicewicz spent parts of five seasons in the NCAA with the Saints and Minutemen. In 129 career games, he collected 38 goals and 40 assists for 78 points.

During his one season at UMass, Gicewicz and his teammates were crowned Hockey East and NCAA Champions.

Although Gicewicz has spent the majority of his professional time deployed in the AHL, he is destined to see time in the ECHL this season. Having displayed his offensive skills with the Gladiators, Gicewicz should have no issues bringing that over to the state of Florida.
