Ford spent last season playing in Italy with HC Bolzano

Former Bowling Green and North Dakota forward Connor Ford has signed with HK Spisska Nova Ves, it was announced Wednesday.

Ford, a Pittsburgh, PA., product, played for HC Bolzano (ICEHL) this past season where he scored 11 goals and added 23 assists for 34 points in 47 regular season games. Ford added a further seven points in 12 playoff games.

Before making the trek overseas, Ford began his pro career with the Henderson Silver Knights where he had 19 points across parts of two seasons.

Having spent five seasons in the NCAA, Ford played four of those with Bowling Green before spending his final year with the Fighting Hawks. In 185 career NCAA games, Ford scored 57 goals and added 85 assists for 142 points.

As Ford heads into his second season overseas, he will be worth monitoring. As someone who can contribute at the AHL level, some NHL teams could be interested in offering him a deal that could entice him to return to North America.
