Scheel played for the Chicago Wolves last season

Former North Dakota goaltender Adam Scheel has signed a one-year deal with the AHL's Colorado Eagles, the team announced Tuesday.

Scheel, hailing from Lakewood, Ohio, spent this past season playing for the Chicago Wolves (AHL), posting a 13-18-8 record to go along with a 2.84 GAA and a .907 SV% in 42 appearances.

Before turning pro at the end of the 2020-21 season, Scheel spent three seasons with the Fighting Hawks, collecting a 52-18-5 record, a 1.95 GAA and a .916 SV% in 78 career appearances.

While Scheel spent time in the ECHL in his first two full seasons as a pro, he was able to establish himself as a full-time AHL goalie in 2023-24. As Scheel joins the Eagles, he will most likely be splitting starts with Trent Miner.
