

Former North Dakota forward Joel Janatuinen has signed a one-year deal with the Sheffield Steelers (EIHL) in England, it was announced this past week.
A native of Espoo, Finland, Janatuinen spent this past season playing for HPK in Finland's Liiga, collecting an assist in six games. Janatuinen has spent parts of the past five seasons playing in Finland's top pro league, collecting 58 points in 169 regular season games.
Prior to heading back to his home country to play pro, Janatuinen spent four seasons with the Fighting Hawks from 2015-2019. In 121 career NCAA games, he scored 19 goals and added 25 assists for 44 points.
With Janatuinen heading to play in England, he will have the opportunity to bounce back this upcoming season.
