McIntyre played for the Fighting Hawks from 2012-2015

Former North Dakota goaltender Zane McIntyre has signed a one-year deal with the DEL's Straubing Tigers, it was announced this past week.

Hailing from Grand Forks, N.D., McIntyre spent this past season playing for the Iowa Wild. In 24 regular season appearances, he posted a 4-14-4 record to go along with a 3.41 GAA and a .881 SV%.

Drafted by the Boston Bruins in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL Draft, McIntyre played three seasons with the Fighting Hawks where he had a 58-24-9 record, a 2.10 GAA and a .926 SV%.

Over the course of his nine-year pro career, McIntyre has suited up in the ECHL (Atlanta Gladiators), AHL (Providence Bruins, Utica Comets, Binghamton Devils, Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Tucson Roadrunners & Iowa Wild), KHL (Dinamo Riga) and NHL (Boston Bruins).

As McIntrye heads overseas to join Germany's top league, he will be competing for minutes alongside Florian Bugl. Although McIntyre's numbers have taken a dip in recent seasons, he has the ability to be a top-tier goalie in the DEL.
